Captain Solo

Image
We had our first solo run today and I’m happy to report we are back safe and sound tied to our dock. We plotted our course to Beausoleil island and picked a spot to anchor near Papoose bay.  A little lunch and a lot of fretting over the anchor holding us in place or not. Very pleasant day….so much to learn. Today our headsets to communicate from one end of the boat to the other while docking and our front and rear cameras were not working.  Always something 🤦‍♀️

Look who’s at the Helm

This was our maiden voyage on Red Rover. Captain Rick Stout came to assist and instruct us both…..he was terrific. We we’re both 😎 and yet so excited. Big Day for us; and it went really well. He feels we are ready to head out on our own. Maybe tomorrow!!??  Proud of you honey 🥰   Thanks captain Rick

Stow aways

We had our first visitors come for a sleepover. Was so nice to see Lori (our youngest) and Dan. We enjoyed cocktails on the back deck, strolling the docks (curious to see all the different boats) and dinner. They left after a hardy breakfast as Dan works later today. Reviews of the guest quarters as cozy with their recommendations of a 2 night limit; interpretation…..their parent time tolerance. We had a great time and they are planning their next visit soon 😘

Bedtime-Funtime

As I was climbing into bed, I noticed the Master stateroom’s hatch had also leaked and our linens, all the way to the mattress protector were wet. We stripped the bedding and spread it all out to dry. Richard covered the outside with a tarp, thankfully it’s not windy.  On the bright side we found out the guest quarters are comfy. Calling for rain all day 🫤

Boat’s leaking😳

Image
Just pouring out today. Nice day to do laundry and puttering. Discovered this hatch is leaking in the Pilothouse….it’s going on the to do list.  Richard has been down in the engine room, up on the roof and in every nook and cranny of this boat….even in his sleep 😴😴 Still can’t find the black water tank, think I’ll put that at the top of the list.
