Nice dinner out on Day 2…that is Mac n cheese with spicy chicken on top and wood fired pizza. After dinner we headed to Kid Rock’s Honkie Tonk….the band was excellent so we stayed until way past our bedtime…fun evening.🍷🍷🍺🍺 This morning we did the Hop On Hop Off bus tour, we didn’t do any hopping but I enjoyed it, Richard not so much…. Richard took these 2 shots of our boat while out walking. Tonight we Ubered to the Grand Ole Opry for the show.  Very entertaining, good variety of artists 👍👍👍 ~~~~~~ Tomorrow we go back the way we came, 2 or 3 nights anchoring and back to Green Turtle Bay Marina before heading south.

Left the anchorage around 7:45….lovely morning, just a little fog…loving the Cumberland River. Entering the city…I sat on the bow to take in the view. Our track for the day…beautiful cruising. We have reservations for 3 nights at the city dock…right downtown…. We walked over the bridge to take in some music, libations and southern cuisine.  We could not believe the crowds on a Monday… does no one work anymore!!!! The city was hopping.  First stop, Nudie’s Merch; good band played a variety of music Margarita, beer and Pretzel. 2nd stop, Rippy’s; 2 beers and deep fried pickles…good music. 3rd stop, Honkie Tonk Central; red wine, beer and southern twist on egg rolls…this band played requests only..girl was very good.  3rd stop, Tequila Cowboy; white wine, beer and dry rub chicken wings. These 2 guys kept us in our seats until they finish their set….they were excellent, even had some original works thrown in…..amazing.  Last stop, Château Red Rover;  Red wine, cheese and crackers, with

Day 2 on the Cumberland

Pulled the anchor by 7:30 this morning…. Still waters and pretty scenery.  Very nice cruising day with sandstone cliffs on one side and farmland on the other. A group of rock climbers ascending this cliff.  One lock today, going up 26 feet.  Our track! Anchored for the night, beautiful quiet spot with another looper boat Pivot. The young couple on board do a very popular blog.  Tomorrow, Nashville…

Anchored on the Cumberland

Early departure from Green Turtle Bay, for a 3 day trip on the Cumberland River to Nashville.  We left with our friends on Liming but they had to turn back do to persistent engine issues. Today we are traveling south the length of Barkley Lake….this lake was man made when they flooded the Cumberland River. On my navigation screen you can clearly see that we are traveling in the deeper water of the old river bed.  And with these flood plains and shallow waters, bird sightings. Like this bald eagle circling overhead looking for fish.  Herons, Egrets and flocks of these migrating white pelicans return.  The water is so low this group of cottages no longer have water access….all their docks are on land.  Our track… We tucked in behind Dover Island for the night with another Nordic Tug, they are from Vancouver ….they trucked it across the country to do the Loop. Fish are jumping all around the boat but Richard can not get a nibble…. Best sunset to date.
