Bahamas, Green Turtle Cay

Image
We left Titusville Marina on January 6th….beautiful cruising day, lots of dolphins 🐬  We anchored out by Pelican Island for the night… Docked into Fort Pierce Marina for two nights waiting for high winds to pass before moving on.  A nerve racking 15 minutes of “seek immediate shelter tornado warnings in the area” alarms on our phones…scary, but it passed us without incident. Onto West Palm Beach…. Beautiful area, impressive homes….Stupid money 🤑.  We are anchored for the night and set for a 5am departure for our crossing to the Bahamas, West End on Grand Bahamas Island. We arrived by noon….no pictures of our crossing as I spent most of it drugged and below decks feeling green 🤢.  It wasn’t a bad crossing, just a little rolly.  Many boats pulled in after us that day as it was the only weather window permitting the crossing in a while. We spent 4 nights here, pinned down by high winds and rough seas.  It is a very nice area, so we make the best of it. Calm weather on Monday the 15th

South to Titusville

We spent 10 days on the move from Fort Myers to Titusville….at anchor each night.   Lots of Dolphins playing in our wake. Even picked up these kayakers riding in our wake one day….they stayed with us for a couple of miles keeping up to our 6 to 8 knots an hour. Some beautiful scenery along the way, this old bridge in the St Augustine area. This visitor rested on our bow while anchored by Daytona. We arrived in Titusville on December 27th.  Nice to walk on land again….. Rick and Sue arrive on the 28th to spend a few days with us. Cape Canaveral is just across the bay….perfect spot to watch launches 🚀.  We walked to the park next door to the marina to watch this one. Watched this second one standing on the bow of the boat later in the week. Norm and Jeannine joined us for drinks on the 29th then out for dinner at Pier 220. Spent New Years Eve day at Norm and Jeannine’s place.  Good  food and drinks and fun playing games and visiting.  It was great fun…thanks for your hospitality. Left
