Here comes our dinghy…

Image
Yesterday we got our dinghy launched and moved over to the boat.  Her previous owner was kind enough to patiently review the dos and don’ts and best practices to hoist her up out of the water and secured to the roof of our trawler……and vice versa.  She will be a great addition to the voyage…lots of nooks and crannies, side trips the big boat can’t go. On a side note, thanks to everyone for their comments.  Please 🐻 with me, I haven’t figured out how to respond to them on blogger…working on it..😉

Boat projects

Spent our first day on Red Rover yesterday. Mostly making a mess and a list. The past owners would have been gobsmacked at the state of their neat, orderly boat. There’s a plan here somewhere. 🤔

Did you know?

Boat Cards! I didn’t even know that was a thing.  Boaters have these printed up to hand out on their travels.  As Lori would say, Cool Beans.  Want one? And yes, they arrived crooked, Vista Print is sending me a re-print at no charge.

Can’t take it with us….

So much stuff!  As much as we purged 6 years ago to downsize, there is still a great deal to gift, sell, donate, recycle and chuck.  We have been at it for more than 6 months now (and by we I mean mostly me).    Endless emails to family and friends with pictures of items up for grabs….I feel like a game show host.  Kids are starting to ghost me.  Facebook’s marketplace is a great place to sell the items that have some value but be prepared to negotiate, no one offers full listed price 😒. A little “anx” setting in at times and yet liberating….nothing to weigh us down….and I mean nothing. Frank and Tori taking a load home

Our New Home

Proudly presenting Red Rover, A 42’ Nordic Tug Pilot house….our home on water.  We had our Sea Trial today and everything checked out.  It was great to see her in the light of day and in action. Excited and overwhelmed all at once.
