The mushroom houses of Charlevoix……Architect Earl Young designed and built these very original homes using stone and working with the landscape.  This larger one now up on the market for 4.5million.  Pretty 😎 


This was a great place to spend extra time. We did a lot of exploring on foot. 

Farmers market here on Thursday morning….We stocked up on fresh veg. 

Walked to the big lake. 

Nicely restored train station…the train tracks are long gone. 


Beautiful old estates on every side street and lining the waterfront.


And of course beautiful sunset on the lake side. 


On our way south tomorrow. Small weather window opening up. We will see how it is when we get to the big lake. Heading to either Leland in 3 hours or Frankfort in 7 hours.

  Yup…New Adventures await us…..Loved every minute!!!  We have listed her with the broker who sold her to us, Gerry Zidner.  You can see her listing on boat dealers.ca.  We are back onboard  after our trip north. We had a nice trip back to Canada 🇨🇦…Lori and Dan’s baby shower had a great turn out…fun visit with my sister Louise and cousin Joanne….cloudy eclipse and celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary. Fellow Loopers taking our picture as they go by the marina while we were away.  Back on the move…..we left Wacca Wache marina in SC on April 13th….waiting for high winds to calm.  4 long days on the move and 4 nights at anchor leave us well positioned to cross the Albemarle Sound and weather conditions are perfect. Our first time going through Coinjock, a stop at their dock and diner at their restaurant. House specialty is Prime Rib that Richard enjoyed and I had the Ribeye….it was very nice. Last stretch going into the outskirts of Norfolk, Virgini...

Whitehall, NY

 We pushed off the wall close to 9am this morning, captain had a nice sleep in…..he needed it. The first lock of the day, up 10 feet. We are at maximum elevation of 140 feet for this canal system.  It’s all down hill from here. 👇 Three more locks today, all down. We had company today…a sail boat accompanied us from Fort Edwards to Whitehall. The canal is getting more and more narrow.  Mountains in the background as we approach Vermont. We got tied up in Whitehall, another free town dock including power and water….❤️❤️ Whitehall is the birthplace of US navy and it all started with this boat credited for winning the war of 1812 that was fought in this area. We went for a walk once the sunset, it was very hot today. Small downtown area by the waterfront park, the years have not been kind. View of Red Rover and the park from the bridge we will go under in the morning.
