Introducing Ludington Michigan….one more quaint seaside town with shops, restaurants, beautiful beaches and walkways. This town is so clean, including the public bathrooms….kudos to Michigan state…impressive. 


Our track to get here. It was a little rocky….




Nicely located marina for long walks into town or down to the beach and break wall. 


“The Badger”. Coal fired Ferry that runs daily across the lake from here. One of the last of it’s kind soon to be converted. Interesting history….google her. 


Local farmers market…..we were able to provision with locally grown goodies. 



We are are really enjoying our walks on the beach. This young lady getting some “air” with her kite. Leaving in the morning after 5 days here;  destination will be weather dependent.

Sounds like such a great spot - beach sand looks soft; so nice to get some good exercise in, after days on the boat. Safe journey tomorrow.

Thousand Islands

  We crossed Lake Ontario on May 22nd and staying on the US side headed to Clayton NY. We stayed 2 days and really enjoyed this cute little town….great shops and restaurants on a well maintained water front. Unfortunately it is mayfly season and they were plentiful. They have a very nice boat museum in Clayton, showcasing restored boats from the early 1900’s and history of this area as playground to the rich and famous. The jewel of their collection is this restored house boat built by  by George Bolt in 1903. On May 26th we crossed the border and docked at the Gananoque municipal marina for 2 nights…high winds and rains were moving in and we were picking up guests Karen and Jake Wardill. We did some anchoring out and sightseeing.  Our first stop was Singer Castle built on Dark Island in 1905 by the Bourne family;  He made his fortune as President of the Singer sewing machine company, hence the name Singer Castle. Lake Simcoe

 We entered the Trent-Severn waterway on May 31st…. Rice Lake is dense with weeds…worst we have seen it and it’s early season yet. Le Boat has a fleet of boats just south of Peterborough now. 3 long days and about 20 locks…I lost count and we arrive in Peterborough for one week stay. Well deserved break and extra special time with Vivie and Lori. Then 4 long days and 16 locks…..Young’s Point, Bobcaygen and Talbot to arrive in Keswick while weather was favourable on lake Simcoe. We love it here at Krates marina for its proximity to family and friends.  We will spend the summer here as we plan our transition back to land life.
