We got an early start….reasonably good condition. 


De Tour Lighthouse 


We cruised right by Mackinac Island on our way to our marina. 


You can see the Grand Hotel up on the hill. We were dodging ferries here as they move fast and come from 3 different locations….and on a holiday weekend they were full. 


We were parked right on the T-dock with the ferries coming in right beside us. 


Day 2 we took a 16 minute ferry across to spend the best part of our day on the Island. 


No motorized vehicles on the island….lots of horses and bicycles. 


It was a beautiful day. Walked up to the fort.

History lesson about the fort. 


Next a carriage house museum. Beautifully preserved. 



This was a must see for us. Very cool.

Yes, great selfies, Richard! 😁 Lots of memories, as we were there years ago. Did you grab a drink on hotel verandah?? I remember the marina where we got on the ferry. Looks like another great day. ❤️

Looks like you had great weather. Brings back memories. Last visited 33 years ago with the boys. From the photos it looks the same.

  Yup…New Adventures await us…..Loved every minute!!!  We have listed her with the broker who sold her to us, Gerry Zidner.  You can see her listing on boat dealers.ca.  We are back onboard  after our trip north. We had a nice trip back to Canada 🇨🇦…Lori and Dan’s baby shower had a great turn out…fun visit with my sister Louise and cousin Joanne….cloudy eclipse and celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary. Fellow Loopers taking our picture as they go by the marina while we were away.  Back on the move…..we left Wacca Wache marina in SC on April 13th….waiting for high winds to calm.  4 long days on the move and 4 nights at anchor leave us well positioned to cross the Albemarle Sound and weather conditions are perfect. Our first time going through Coinjock, a stop at their dock and diner at their restaurant. House specialty is Prime Rib that Richard enjoyed and I had the Ribeye….it was very nice. Last stretch going into the outskirts of Norfolk, Virgini...

Whitehall, NY

 We pushed off the wall close to 9am this morning, captain had a nice sleep in…..he needed it. The first lock of the day, up 10 feet. We are at maximum elevation of 140 feet for this canal system.  It’s all down hill from here. 👇 Three more locks today, all down. We had company today…a sail boat accompanied us from Fort Edwards to Whitehall. The canal is getting more and more narrow.  Mountains in the background as we approach Vermont. We got tied up in Whitehall, another free town dock including power and water….❤️❤️ Whitehall is the birthplace of US navy and it all started with this boat credited for winning the war of 1812 that was fought in this area. We went for a walk once the sunset, it was very hot today. Small downtown area by the waterfront park, the years have not been kind. View of Red Rover and the park from the bridge we will go under in the morning.
