6 days in Alton

This was our track to get here, you can see the Illinois river merging with the Upper Mississippi on the map.

The marina by day…. we went for a few walks along the river.

Skittish Turtles, hard to get pictures of them.

The American Queen was parked at the cruise boat dock.  She may just be a replica, but still very pretty.

We attended a concert in the park on Sunday and enjoyed food truck fair of brisket 🌮….good music and good food.

The town here preserved the old brick lined streets, this technique came after cobblestone….neat.

Neighboring Loopers borrowed our printer and thanked us with this treat….😋

Had docktails with a new group tonight, organizing early morning departure from here and coordinating traversing the nearby lock together.

A small Mom and Pop local grocer picked us up at the marina, we provisioned and they drove us back, great service. And most important of all, we were able to have a local mechanic come by and fix our anchor motor….probably was lose wires.  He had us back in business within 30 minutes….sooooo relieved.
