Beardstown
Another beautiful day on the river. Plan B destination as we were going to anchor out….now going to tie up to a barge in Beardstown. No locks and a 3 hour dive…☕️
We were the second boat to arrive and tie up. We walked along the tied up barges to get to the yard office to pay cash for our reasonably cheap night stay. We weren’t tied up 20 minutes before they asked us to move as the Tow was coming to get the barge we were tied to. We did so safely……impressed with the Tow Captains skills. Later in the afternoon we had 7 boats tied to several barges when we were asked once again to do “The Looper Shuffle” so they could come and get one more barge out of this pile. And of course a rain storm moved in during all the excitement. Quite a few gentlemen were soaked through helping each other untie and retie lines, great team work.
