Bahia Honda to Key Largo

Bahia Honda State Park

We took the dinghy out a few days to this sandbar, to swim and explore…..yup, it’s a small shark.

The weather has been very nice, mid 80s with a warm ocean breeze.

Nurse shark, Parrot fish and many others hung out just behind our our boat.

We took an emergency $1 bus ride to the next Key over for supplies.

Yup, Rats found their way onboard…..and I declared war.
😡🤬🤯🤢….good news is we found their access and managed to block it and they didn’t take up permanent residence.

This morning we left for Key Largo…we had planned to anchor out but high winds had us change plans last minute and dock at Marina Del Mar.  Our track shows one stop to fuel up….they had a high speed fuel pump that took my captain by surprise as diesel came shooting out of the tank like we had struck oil….

To get to this marina you have to navigate some very narrow channels with beautiful boats and homes on either side.

It seems, with all the excitement at the fuel dock, the admiral missed securing one of our lines. It dragged happily behind us until Richard put the boat into reverse, to back into our slip, at which point it got caught in the prop/shaft.  With the help of 2 quick dock hands we managed to back into our slip without power or steering. It’s a miracle we didn’t hit the boat beside us….what a day.  Tomorrow is another day….and it will start with a swim and a knife….wish us luck.
