Marathon Key
We anchored outside the harbour for 4 nights, and each night a beautiful sunset.
We took the dinghy down and went exploring.
Inside Boot Key Harbour, many marinas, more anchorage space and a huge mooring field with hundreds of boats.
When it came time to lift the dinghy back up onto the roof, power gave out and left it swinging in this position as Richard scrambled to figure out the problem. It took several hours, a looper friend and a roadside mechanic to figure out it was electrical. We got it back down in the water for now until Richard gets a chance to work on those connections.
Saturday and Sunday were calling for high winds so we booked 2 nights at Safe Harbour marina just inside the harbour.
We got safely tied up and went out for lunch, it was nice to be on land. That night we had docktails with a dozen looper couples all from this marina. It was nice to catch up with old acquaintances and meet new ones.
Sunday we visited this wonderful facility that rescues, rehabs and releases turtles.
Admission pays for medical attention these turtles require and includes a guided tour. Some can’t be rehabilitated and become permanent residence; those that can are released in the area they were rescued from. Super interesting, love turtles 🐢
We are back at anchorage for one night after running errands all day yesterday… this cute little guy just off the back of our boat. We have not gone swimming here, too many jellyfish in the water around our boat, but it is tempting, very hot and water is nice and clear.

Tomorrow we move onto Bahia Honda Key State Park for one week.
