A short hop today, south 2 hours.

Busy anchorage but always room for one more….very little wind in the forecast so it should be a pleasant few days.


Boating is not all margaritas and sunsets…problems with our black water pump.  In the Bahamas there are no pump out facilities, all of your 💩 goes overboard…. We don’t like it and wish we could do it in a more eco friendly way, but we can’t.  My clever husband was able to fix the problem and our 💩 problems are resolved.


This guy came to visit several times during our 2 day stay here….I’m thinking some boaters feed them.

Today we met up with fellow Canadian Loopers, Will and Joy who offered to show us around town.  We followed them into town with our dinghy to walk around and visit a few local shops…splurged on a $10 pineapple, US$….we are out of fruit.


After lunch, we grouped up again, with the addition of Cam and Heather, Canadian Loopers and headed to Thunderball Grotto for a cave snorkel.  At low tide you can snorkel into the cave without diving down….so that is what we did. Again, I need a GoPro….so no pictures, but the cave was very cool and all the fish and coral inside the cave were really beautiful.  This cave was made famous by an old James Bond movie…he is filmed diving into the cave….google it.




We then visited Pig’s beach…you can bring goodies and feed them but that can make them more aggressive, so we came empty handed. Babies are so cute….big ones will swim out to your dinghy to see if you bring treats.




Then to a pig-less beach to sit and chat in the shade…

  Richard and Thérèse’s boating adventure has come to an end and what an adventure it has been.   Yup…New Adventures await us…..Loved every minute!!!  We have listed her with the broker who sold her to us, Gerry Zidner.  You can see her listing on boat dealers.ca.  We are back onboard  after our trip north. We had a nice trip back to Canada 🇨🇦…Lori and Dan’s baby shower had a great turn out…fun visit with my sister Louise and cousin Joanne….cloudy eclipse and celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary. Fellow Loopers taking our picture as they go by the marina while we were away.  Back on the move…..we left Wacca Wache marina in SC on April 13th….waiting for high winds to calm.  4 long days on the move and 4 nights at anchor leave us well positioned to cross the Albemarle Sound and weather conditions are perfect. Our first time going through Coinjock, a stop at their dock and diner at their restaurant. House specialty is Prime Rib that Richard enjoyed and I had the Ribeye….it was very nice. Whitehall, NY

 We pushed off the wall close to 9am this morning, captain had a nice sleep in…..he needed it. The first lock of the day, up 10 feet. We are at maximum elevation of 140 feet for this canal system.  It’s all down hill from here. 👇 Three more locks today, all down. We had company today…a sail boat accompanied us from Fort Edwards to Whitehall. The canal is getting more and more narrow.  Mountains in the background as we approach Vermont. We got tied up in Whitehall, another free town dock including power and water….❤️❤️ Whitehall is the birthplace of US navy and it all started with this boat credited for winning the war of 1812 that was fought in this area. We went for a walk once the sunset, it was very hot today. Small downtown area by the waterfront park, the years have not been kind. View of Red Rover and the park from the bridge we will go under in the morning.
