Sunbury, Georgia

 We left the New Smyrna area on Monday morning, April 10th.  The weather is windy and rainy but still good traveling weather as the ICW is sheltered enough to allow for pleasant travel days. We decided to pass by St Augustine which we have visited before.  


A long day on the water as we have decided to get some miles in and head north.


We anchored out and we’re treated to a nice sunset.







Tuesday the 11th was another long cruising day, we anchored north of Fernandina Beach.  Lot’s of boats here….


This was our sunrise leaving this busy anchorage.



Wednesday the 12th, we are now in Georgia….Bubba Gump territory.



Blue skies on and off throughout the day…. We ended up anchored all by ourselves surrounded by salt marsh.  It was peaceful, serene….we are loving this very different landscape.




Thursday the 13th we planned a shorter day, and enjoyed a lazy morning.  We made dock and dinner reservations at the Sunbury Crab Company Restaurant and Marina. 




This is a family owned and run business.


Richard and I shared this crab and shrimp boil, it was messy but the crab was delicious and caught this morning by the family.



We leave in the morning….onward.

  Richard and Thérèse’s boating adventure has come to an end and what an adventure it has been.   Yup…New Adventures await us…..Loved every minute!!!  We have listed her with the broker who sold her to us, Gerry Zidner.  You can see her listing on boat dealers.ca.  We are back onboard  after our trip north. We had a nice trip back to Canada 🇨🇦…Lori and Dan’s baby shower had a great turn out…fun visit with my sister Louise and cousin Joanne….cloudy eclipse and celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary. Fellow Loopers taking our picture as they go by the marina while we were away.  Back on the move…..we left Wacca Wache marina in SC on April 13th….waiting for high winds to calm.  4 long days on the move and 4 nights at anchor leave us well positioned to cross the Albemarle Sound and weather conditions are perfect. Our first time going through Coinjock, a stop at their dock and diner at their restaurant. House specialty is Prime Rib that Richard enjoyed and I had the Ribeye….it was very nice. Last stretch going into the outskirts of Norfolk, Virgini...

Lake Simcoe

 We entered the Trent-Severn waterway on May 31st…. Rice Lake is dense with weeds…worst we have seen it and it’s early season yet. Le Boat has a fleet of boats just south of Peterborough now. 3 long days and about 20 locks…I lost count and we arrive in Peterborough for one week stay. Well deserved break and extra special time with Vivie and Lori. Then 4 long days and 16 locks…..Young’s Point, Bobcaygen and Talbot to arrive in Keswick while weather was favourable on lake Simcoe. We love it here at Krates marina for its proximity to family and friends.  We will spend the summer here as we plan our transition back to land life.
