Titusville - April 1st

Traveling in the ICW has been a real treat compared to the open waters of the Atlantic.  Even though it’s been windy, it barely affects travel or anchoring.  A real treat for us and it’s beautiful….areas of mangroves mixed with areas of beautiful homes. Dolphins and birds, very few birds in the Bahamas….missed them.

Lake Worth to Peck Lake.

Peck Lake to Vero Beach.

Vero Beach to Cocoa.

We have been able to anchor safely just of the channel and enjoy some quiet time.

Our dinghy lift has not been working since arriving in the Bahamas…..so we have been towing it since then.  It’s a wonder it’s still with us.  The tow line has gotten caught under the boat where the captain had to dive in to get it loose.  Yesterday it got caught up in our stern thruster.  Another dive for the captain to get the rope loose and he always comes up bleeding….cuts up his hands on barnacles starting to attach themselves to the running gear. We think the thruster is okay but it blew the fuse and we have no spare.

This morning we are docking at the Kennedy Point Marina in Titusville for one week.  My brother Norm and his wife Jeannine live here. It will be great spending time with them and we are looking forward to a change of pace. The boat needs some repairs and some TLC, plus we are just about out of everything.  Wish us luck, docking the boat towing a dinghy without the stern thruster will be extra challenging 😰
