Burlington, Vermont
Early morning departure for the 7am opening of the Whitehall lock….down 15 feet.
Locked in the company of this sailboat; they were locals returning from the Bahamas and passed on several tips on our upcoming voyage.
We were concerned about the wind moving in later in the day but for the most part, it was a lovely cruise. Lake Champlain is narrow in the south, then opens up coming into Burlington. We booked a 3 night stay here, avoiding high winds moving in for the weekend.
Very nice market on Saturday with a great variety of vendors, unfortunately we couldn’t stock up as we are crossing the border on Monday.
Lot’s of parks, shopping and eateries all within a short walk from the boat.
Red Rover in the background between us.
