On the move - Jan 22nd to 25th

Rick and Sue decided to stay onboard for the trip to Sarasota. 

We were able to anchor just off Otter key, just south of St Armand Circle, stayed here 3 nights. 




Just a quick dinghy ride to the sea wall where we tied to a palm tree, scaled the wall (depending on tide, this was not a graceful dismount for me, but we made it work) 🤪 and we were steps from the beach and all the shops and restaurants. 




Jackie and Marc were able to drive down from Bradenton and join us for a lovely lunch and a stroll for a little shopping 🛍

Sue and Rick left us Tuesday morning the 24th, a dinghy ride back to shore where they left their vehicle.

Our first time going through Coinjock, a stop at their dock and diner at their restaurant. House specialty is Prime Rib that Richard enjoyed and I had the Ribeye….it was very nice.   Richard and Thérèse’s boating adventure has come to an end and what an adventure it has been. Red Rover has been sold and will be heading to her new home in Halifax.  ~~~~~~ We are moving into a condo in downtown Stouffville in close proximity to our children and grandchildren.  We look forward to what comes next.  Thank you for following along;  we have enjoyed your comments and questions.

  We crossed Lake Ontario on May 22nd and staying on the US side headed to Clayton NY. We stayed 2 days and really enjoyed this cute little town….great shops and restaurants on a well maintained water front. Unfortunately it is mayfly season and they were plentiful. They have a very nice boat museum in Clayton, showcasing restored boats from the early 1900’s and history of this area as playground to the rich and famous. The jewel of their collection is this restored house boat built by  by George Bolt in 1903. On May 26th we crossed the border and docked at the Gananoque municipal marina for 2 nights…high winds and rains were moving in and we were picking up guests Karen and Jake Wardill. We did some anchoring out and sightseeing.  Our first stop was Singer Castle built on Dark Island in 1905 by the Bourne family;  He made his fortune as President of the Singer sewing machine company, hence the name Singer Castle.
