Left Beaufort early morning…We have a 10 hour day planned.





Cloudy day with a verity of open water and narrow rivers.  Positioning ourselves to cross a large sound tomorrow before the winds pick up on Wednesday.

We got anchored between 2 other boats just as the clouds cleared and the sun came out.

Thousand Islands

  We crossed Lake Ontario on May 22nd and staying on the US side headed to Clayton NY. We stayed 2 days and really enjoyed this cute little town….great shops and restaurants on a well maintained water front. Unfortunately it is mayfly season and they were plentiful. They have a very nice boat museum in Clayton, showcasing restored boats from the early 1900’s and history of this area as playground to the rich and famous. The jewel of their collection is this restored house boat built by  by George Bolt in 1903. On May 26th we crossed the border and docked at the Gananoque municipal marina for 2 nights…high winds and rains were moving in and we were picking up guests Karen and Jake Wardill. We did some anchoring out and sightseeing.  Our first stop was Singer Castle built on Dark Island in 1905 by the Bourne family;  He made his fortune as President of the Singer sewing machine company, hence the name Singer Castle. Croton-on-the-Hudson

We travelled on and off with a group of Loopers, early mornings and long days;  taking advantage of good weather windows. Waves, swells and tides during this section are some of the most worrisome….and 🤢 for the admiral. Sunrises and sunsets….just doesn’t get old. Our little Vivienne was born 2 weeks early….Mom and babe doing fine.  Grandparents….overjoyed!!!  The news arrived on WhatsApp….technology. We crossed NYC in heavy fog following 2 friends. We are now docked at Half Moon bay marina just north of the city on the Hudson River.  Staying 2 weeks here; boat projects, touring the area and driving home to enjoy the grandkids. Rented a car for the trip home…shopping and a stop at a nearby dam…lovely. Drove one hour north for a walk over the Hudson….great views of this beautiful area. Then onto dinner at the Culinary Institute of America where students practice their skill in 3 different restaurants.  We chose French cuisine in The Bocuse restaurant.  Our ...
