Chester, Maryland

Monday, October 16th, we left Delaware City with the afternoon tide to traverse the C & D canal (joins Delaware and Chesapeake Bays).

Great weather and good push from the receding tide we enter the Sassafras River by late afternoon.

Anchored by Hot Dog Beach.

Beautiful sunrise…..we saw deer on the beach here…pretty spot to spend 2 nights.

Wednesday, October 8th, we pull up the anchor and head down the river and back into the Chesapeake.

Weather conditions are excellent in the Upper Chesapeake today…..great travel day.

Fishermen emptying crab traps.

We anchor in Reed Creek for 2 nights.  All by ourselves in this secluded spot…until a sailboat came in on the second night.

Nice and calm, it’s time to move on before the wind and rain moves in for the weekend.

We moved into Piney Narrows Yacht Haven, in Chester, MD for 4 nights on Friday, October 20th.

Our track for the week.

Going to head south this week towards Norfolk, VA….we hope to spend the week at anchor.
